Talk Of War With Iran Sounds Like We're Back in 2003

By Joseph Perce

With all the talk of not ruling out a military strike against Iran and having "all options on the table", you'd think we were back in March 2003 - When the Iraq war started.

The truth of the matter is, a war with Iran would be a catastrophe. Iran has the secret backing of both Russia and China, who would not let their interests in the area be compromised. Furthermore, Iran's armed forces are by far more capable than Iraq's.

This talk of pre-emptive action is irresponsible at best and does very little in resolving the situation. We have all seen what starting a war against a country "suspected of having Weapons of Mass Destruction" has resulted in.

I think the American people have had enough of the lies and misinformation told to them over the years. The question is, what is going to be done to prevent another miscalculation from transpiring?

With two wars that seemingly have no end in sight, a skyrocketing national debt, gas at almost $5/gallon, real estate prices falling and consumer confidence slipping, can we really afford a third war?

Make no mistake; a war with Iran would not be a "cakewalk". How about taking a look at all options other than military ones first? Or is this the finally legacy the Bush Administration will leave for us?
