The Pentagon cannot account for nearly 15 billion dollars in payments for goods and services in Iraq, according to an internal audit which members of Congress blasted Friday as a shocking" accountability failure," states an article on Yahoo.com. Does it disturb and sicken you that 15 billion of your tax dollars suddenly cannot be accounted for?

Oh, I have a pretty good idea where those "unaccountable" dollars went to.. Some shady business dealing with an unscrupulous organization or individual. Well, how about this; Let's make it a crime of treason to steal your tax payer money and enforce a mandatory life sentence at Gitmo as punishment - Then watch as the "lack of accountability" magically disappears and every dollar becomes accounted for.

There is simply no excuse for a lack of accountability when it comes to your hard-earned tax dollars. There are more than enough skilled individuals who can be hired to ensure that every dollar is in fact accounted for.

According to the above article, "The disclosures sparked outrage among legislators and concern that US taxpayers are deeply vulnerable to massive waste and fraud in the Pentagon's contracting system." It's not enough to just spark "outrage". So what; They're going to be "outraged" for one day then will forget about the problem.

What our legislators need to do instead of sitting around on their asses feeling outraged is pass draconian measures that institute extreme punishment towards those individuals or organizations who would be so bold and stupid as to waste our hard-earned tax dollars.

Make it an act of treason against the American people to have your money wasted without accountability, and watch how quickly and efficiently your money will start to be counted.
