You fail to deal with the issue that the US has highly subsidized Ethanol Production causing the poor return on energy investment to be over looked and also allowing the price for corn and other crops used fro bio fuel production to be artificially inflated. Also the food shortage will drive prices up. A shortage of any product or service drives up prices. Demand and shortage drive up price it is so plain to see. So if we have substantial crops being used for other markets and not for food, these decisions are part of the problem. They may not be the only factors but when you look at how much farmland was used to product bio fuels, you have to wonder how many people could have been fed with that land? How much more stable could food prices be if those crops were used for human consumption?
These are critical parts of the discussion that you are avoiding.
No current biofuel production would make a sound business case without government subsidy. Bio fuels are less efficient when used to power cars, less MPG. So when we mix bio fuels with current gasoline we are getting less MPG out of our fuel and actually using more fuel. The added cost of ethanol causes the price at the pump to be inflated as well. Maybe the bio fuels industry should buy more coal for the power stations that are working harder so that they can expend 1.4 times the energy given out by ethanol to produce it?

Many things you need to work through.

This article was very informative on how many jobs renewable energy could create and had down to earth numbers. No graphs you had to interpet.

Sure we are Ed. Look at your essay above. You make the leap that Rush planted that thought in that women's head, and nothing will shake it. And yes, I can't even talk to past friends who are left of the aisle anymore.

What's left? Sadly....not much.
