Barack Obama is going to lose the election
Let’s face it folks Barack Obama is going to lose the election. It is just sad that the prevailing mentality in the USA today is the same mentality that kept slavery alive. That prevailing mentality is a conservative mentality. Conservatives believe that change of any kind is un-American. No matter how good the benefits may be, change is wrong. Conservatives believe that the way the country was set-up by the Founding Fathers is good enough; don’t change it. Never mind that the Founding Fathers wanted a dynamic government that could change with the course of time.

This impending election loss brings the realization that the rich will win again. Good-bye middle class. We will get no regulations on Wall Street to force them to play fair with our money. Trickle-down economics will continue to flood money out of the country or into the pockets of the rich. The 0.05% of Americans that carry the bulk of the war will get no relief: the soldiers must suck it up and keep on fighting while Joe six pack cheers them on. But our backward “don’t change anything” conservative cousins won’t have it any other way.
Even something as terrible as slavery had to be pried from the conservative’s cold-dead-hands in a terrible war. That “Civil War” (known as “The War of Northern Aggression” in the South) freed the slaves, but it did not change the mentality of the losers. This conservative mentality is not confined to the South; it is all over the country. Time has not bred it out of the Union. Waiting patiently for the slow progress of time has not changed conservatives one jot and they are damn proud of it. There is no reasoning with people who believe that a call for change is un-American, it is anarchy, treason!
So as you sit there bewildered on election night, watching McCain roll to victory, and you wonder what it will take to get the US to do the right thing, just remember that it took a war to get conservatives to end an institution as insidious as slavery. No group of people so resistant to change that they won’t lift a finger to help their fellow man will ever understand that their “liberal” cousins are just trying to help them. Lincoln, who has never been accepted by conservatives (shot by one of them), spoke in his second inaugural address about the lengths one must go, to get conservatives to change:
“Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.”
In other words: the US may have to shed a lot of blood to rid itself of slavery, but if that is what it takes, it is a fitting punishment for not stopping slavery sooner.
What will it take to get conservatives to do the right thing this time? How much more of our military will they demand before they give them a break? How much more wealth do they want the rich to have? How much more corrupt do they want Wall Street to be before it is corrupt enough? How far do they want our empire to grow before it has grown enough? How many Muslims do they want dead before enough have been killed? Conservatives are not about God and not about morals as they claim. They are all about the preservation of white America and changing that is un-American. There are too many of our conservative cousins for Obama to ever win this election.
